London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2008 - Case Studies

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

The sheer number of veteran cars at this prestigious event required a structured approach to the storage of digital assets and information. The functionality implemented by MSO.net was more than up to the challenge.

The Brief
The organisers of the event, Motion Works UK Ltd., an automotive and motorsport marketing and management company approached MSO.net to design and develop the official website.  The aim of the site is to provide a full guide for both participants and spectators.

Background
Motion Works UK Ltd was appointed in January 2004 by the Royal Automobile Club of Pall Mall, London to exclusively manage the planning, organisation and administration of this prestigious veteran car event for the next 5 years.

The Solution
As the official website for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the site (written in ColdFusion) needed to be a comprehensive resource for those following all aspects of the event.

A range of features were included: an e-commerce facility - online registration function for participants; events management - online request forms for media members requiring accreditation/photographic passes and the option to download routes and directions for those interested parties.  All of these digital assets are managed via the Digital Asset Manager where they can be viewed and organised.

The gallery section is powered by the MSO.net Image Manager which centrally stores the vast array of digital images and enables the administrator to add/edit or delete those assets with ease.

Results
A thorough and comprehensive point of reference for anyone wishing to gain all information pertaining to the event and its history.
