1. The rising prominence of organic listing. |

Pay per click (PPC) and its simple method of paying for higher placed listings than your competitors has obvious benefits - you can calculate your return accurately and achieve marketing targets relatively easily. However, PPC campaigns can be expensive as the bidding war gains momentum amongst those vying for the number one position.
Recent reports suggest that the cost of PPC campaigns will continue to increase and that website owners should concentrate more resources on organic listings. The general consensus amongst website users is that a website that gains a top ten listing on page 1 (for example, Google) has worked harder to get there (and therefore has an intrinsic higher value) than its paid listing counterpart. Many of you replied to our questionnaire about your own sites and your views on their levels of optimisation. We will give you the results early in 2007 but it certainly looks that natural listings are the way forward. |
