Affordable flights and quick connections to the continent have resulted in a highly competitive city break market. With more and more of us choosing to spend a weekend away as a means to relax with friends or family, directline holidays asked us to design a website dedicated to city breaks.
One of the critical factors for many city break travellers is time. The time it takes to book a weekend away is often limited. Equally, the time spent in a chosen destination is restricted to three or four days. In response, we developed a website that was highly intuitive to navigate, explicit in the deals and packages on offer and underpinned by an exceptional search facility.
Understanding where you are staying in relation to the sites and attractions you want to visit can really help you make the most of your time when visiting a city. We added an integrated Google map facility to the website, enabling travellers to pinpoint the precise location of their accommodation long before they arrive. As well as a full breakdown of the prices, packages and deals on offer for 69 city locations across the world, the website also includes an ‘Essentials’ tab for all destinations – providing bite size information covering everything from local etiquette to advice about the best adaptable plug to pack.
A unique reference system helps visitors to avoid repeating search activities. All search details are stored and can be retrieved as and when required. This, along with an e-newsletter function and integrated social media links has all helped to create an enjoyable booking experience for every holiday maker.
