As a digital agency we strive to keep a strong presence on social media; whether it’s Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram or Facebook it’s got to be the quickest most accessible way to talk to clients and potential clients. It makes businesses more human, allows us to show off our personality which in turn makes us more relatable.

However, like many other small companies we understand the constant struggle of finding content to post, new fresh ideas and time to put a strategy together. At mso we know that not every social channel is best for everyone, find which one suits your business, which one caters for your target audience, and focus on that. Need some convincing? Here’s some of the top campaigns we’ve enjoyed recently to give you some inspiration.

Straight Outta Compton - Beats by Dre
Beats was the first brand in history to be the #1 trend on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at once. How did they do it? Like Dre, people are proud of where they come from. To start the conversation celebrities got involved by having their ‘Straight Outta…’ portraits created. These then encouraged fans to jump onto which enabled them to join in on the fun by uploadig their portrait and putting a stamp on it. Users could then download and share it on social which culminated in 270k Instagram posts and 300k Twitter posts.

#ShareYourEars – Make-A-Wish Foundation & Disney
These guys teamed up to increase awareness and donations to the children's charity, Make a Wish Foundation. They encouraged their audience to share photo’s of them wearing Mickey Mouse ears and share on social with the hashtag #Share Ears. For every post made Walt Disney Parks donated $5 which culminated in a total of a $2million donation to the foundation. A simple, fun and effective use of social media.

#worth saying - L'Oreal Paris
Grown out of L’Oreals well know saying ‘Because you’re worth it’, they launched the #worth saying campaign at the Golden Globes this year. The new hashtag encourages empowerment and discussion over what’s important to women other than just makeup. An online ad and tv campaign was launched and backed up by social media, and the famous ambassadors of the brand promoted it to their huge following on social too. The beauty of it is it’s a timeless campaign which is still going strong now.
