Maternity cover for Accountant/Bookkeeper


A great opportunity for an experienced company Accountant/Bookkeeper to provide maternity cover and work for a long-established but growing group of companies in the digital sector. Based in North Kent, the fast-paced but exciting environment will require the chosen candidate to manage all the accounting functions for a group of 3 companies for approximately 10 months.


The main duties required to perform, but not limited to, are:

● All aspects of accounts through to Trial Balance, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets

● Producing monthly management accounts and information for the Directors

● Managing cash flow, including budgeting and forecasting

● In-putting and maintaining accounts records

● Purchase ledger including processing payments

● Bank and credit card reconciliations

● Credit control

● PAYE – Payroll

● Raising and sending sales invoices

● Preparing, checking and submitting VAT returns

● Updating spreadsheets and general ad hoc office duties

● Liaising with external accountant at year-end


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Strong commercial and Internet awareness

Excellent communication and written skills, with the ability to manage workload

Experience working with Xero

£30k – £40k per annum (FTE), depending on skills and experience

Position is available in January 2020 for 3 days a week to cover maternity leave for approximately 10 months


Further details:

Hours of work are flexible between Monday – Friday 08.30 – 17.00 to suit the right candidate

20 days annual leave + public holidays pro rata
