Whenever you talk to someone about SEO, inbound links to your site are undoubtedly going to be mentioned. These tools allow you to discover and manage your inbound link profile.
MajecticSEO is the largest link intelligence database available and it is continuously updated multiple times a day. They offer a range of plans from free to £1000 per month depending on the number of sites, amount of data and type of access you require.
Similar to MajesticSEO, ahrefs is a large index of links with data being updated every 15 minutes. They also offer a range of plans from free to $499 per month depending again on you or your company’s requirements.
Unlike MajecticSEO and ahrefs, LinkRisk is a tool to assess the quality of your backlinks profile. This tool will help you if you have received the dreaded “Unnatural links to your site” notification from Google. They offer a range of packages from £49 to £1,999 per month depending on your requirements.
Moz, previously SEOMoz, is an SEO toolkit with tools to monitor and track keyword positions in search results, on site issues, social activity, your link profile, brand mentions as well as a range of research tools. Moz offers a range of packages from $99 to $599 per month depending on your requirements and also offers a free 30 day trial, so you can test it out before spending your hard earned cash.
Social
Social media is a key part of your SEO profile today so here are some tools to help you maximise your use of it.
BuzzSumo is a social media discovery tool that allows you to find the most shared links and key influencers on any topic. Simply enter the keyword(s) to find either the top content or the top influencers.
Simitator is a very simple tool that lets you generate a fake Facebook post so you can see what it will look like before you post it. An invaluable tool if you need a preview prior to publication.
Realtime Board is an online whiteboard that allows you to collect ideas, brainstorm, present designs, gather feedback and so on. It allows you to create multiple boards as well as share your boards with others for real time collaboration. There is also a Chrome extension available that allows you to add web clips directly to your Realtime Board library from any website which you can then add to any board. Best of all, it is completely free.
Five second test is a design feedback tool that allows you to gather feedback and optimise landing pages by analyzing the most prominent elements of your design. As the name suggests your design is shown to someone for five seconds and then they are asked a question or two about what they remember from the page. You can start using the tool for free by completing tests yourself to earn credits or there are paid options from $20 per month.
GTMetrix is a site speed testing tool that gives you a site load speed report by incorporating reports from the popular Google PageSpeed and YSlow! tools in one place. For free you can get a basic report on any site and the paid for plans start from $14.95 per month and include features like hourly checks and testing from different locations around the world.
