Is your school website set up for international admissions?

Thinking ahead to the next academic year when you can again welcome international students back to UK schools, have you considered if your website is set up for, or accessible to international students?

Design a user journey

When an international student or parent lands on your website do they know where to find the right information for them? This may sound simple but you must think about how they will travel through your site and what they might see at each stage.
Signposting to guide the user to an area of your choice is imperative and including content, images and videos that are relevant to that user on this journey will keep them engaged & interested.

Dedicated international area or page

A lot of information on your school website will be relevant to international students, be it about boarding, academic, location or co-curricular activities. However, it would be helpful to the user to have this information rounded up in one area.
This is not to say you must put all of your academic information into the international school’s area on your site but you could have a navigation or dashboard style page within this section using components that link off to other locations on your website with useful information.

Information & stats

Prospective parents and students often look for quick bites of information or statistics about the education you can provide. International families are no different so it is important to showcase easy digest information on the topics you want to shout about.

Go virtual

A virtual experience can elevate your prospective parents and students’ understanding of what your school has to offer to the next level. Virtual technologies enable an engaging experience much greater than that of a printed brochure with events like open days and features such as campus maps becoming popular.
